I make my prints on doubleweight fiber-based gelatin silver paper (most often Oriental Seagull Variable Contrast paper) with a glossy surface and tone them in selenium. You can purchase prints either unmounted, or dry-mounted on 4-ply museum quality bright white 100% rag board. Prints are dry-mounted with acid-free drymount tissue, and have a 4-ply overmat attached with an acid-free linen tape hinge.

Dry mounted prints have a signature and title in pencil on the mat board underneath the photograph. I also write the date it was printed and the paper used on the back of the mat board. One dimension (usually the long dimension) of the image will be at most 3/4" less than the paper dimension. So, on 11x14 paper either the long dimension will be 13.25" or the short dimension will be 10.25", and on 16x20 paper either the long dimension will be 19.25" or the short dimension will be 15.25". The mat size is 16x20 for 11x14 prints, and 22x28 for 16x20 prints.

Unmounted prints have a signature and title in pencil on the back, as well as the print date, paper used, and a negative file number that I write on the back of the prints as I expose them in the darkroom. I leave a border of 1" on 11x14 prints and 1.5" on 16x20 prints to leave room for mounting corners when matting. So, on 11x14 paper either the long dimension of the image will be 12" or the short dimension will be 9", and on 16x20 paper either the long dimension will be 17" or the short dimension will be 13". You can also request different size borders when you order a print.
